Pelvic-area soreness and fibromyalgia in Grand Rapids, MI

Pelvic Area Soreness

Soreness in the pelvic area can make it harder to walk, sit down and do many other daily activities. When feeling this type of discomfort, some people may think they’ve pulled a pelvic floor muscle. This can cause soreness in the area in question, but you may not know that fibromyalgia could also lead to soreness in the pelvic area.

How could pelvic area soreness be linked to fibromyalgia?

Fibromyalgia is a nerve-based condition, and nerves run everywhere in your body. When a person has this issue, it’s believed that a chemical imbalance in the brain has occurred. This imbalance can be the result of an infection or injury, and it causes your brain to continue sending out pain signals after the original issue has been dealt with.

These pain signals can be sent to all areas of the body, including the pelvic area. For this reason, soreness in your pelvic area could be caused by fibromyalgia, which is often described as a constant dull ache. Many people would say ache is on the same pain level as soreness.

What other symptoms would you have if fibromyalgia is the problem?

There are two reasons the condition causes you to feel very tired. First, the soreness caused by fibromyalgia can make it difficult to fall asleep or stay asleep. Second, your body is using more energy to fight the aching fibromyalgia causes. If that energy isn’t being replenished with a good night’s sleep, it’s no wonder you feel so fatigued with this condition.

People with fibromyalgia can also have difficulty focusing. This symptom is often called the “fibro fog.” This issue also increases your risk of developing other painful conditions, such as:
